View Full Version : 400 EX...which jet for pipe and filter?

I have an '02 400 EX. I recenlty purchased a K&N air filter and White Brothers E-Series pipe. Do I need to buy the jet kit or just a specific main jet? If single jet, which jet size and # of disks should I use with air box lid off? Thanks!

Just get single jets. I have the same set up and I run a 160 main jet with a 42 pilot jet and 12 disks, and raise the needle 1 notch.

thanks for the input. Ill try that as soon as the pipe comes in. Wheres the best place to by jets (singles) anyway?

I agree with atvmxrider. I bought 152mj,155mj and 158mj and did the old trial and error with them. I'm running 158 main jet, 40 pilot, 12 discs and k&n with outerwear. I bought my main jets for $4.75 each and the pilot for $10 at the Honda dealership. Hopefully your dealership will let you return the jets you don't need as long as they are not damaged. It was a lot cheaper than buying the Jet kits:D

man you are lucky, my shop just charged me 8 bucks for a pilot and 6 for a main. :(

Chanman420q your lucky? I wish my dealer was that cheap:( The reason my pilot was $10 is because it was a genuine Honda part and you know anything genuine you pay for.:rolleyes: I first looked online for a better deal and it was more after shipping:confused: and I had to wait for the ups man.
I need a cheap 155mj in good condition. I lost the one I had and want to put it in for the summer.
