Just curious if anyone remembers this byrd quad? The real deal or a knock off of what he had etc?
Not too bad of a price if in person condition and performance was there. More like $3200-$3500 tops In this area, But still a decent looking quad for a mixed breed. Might be worth looking at if it is/was a true Byrd EX/R.

I don't think Joe Byrd ever rode a 400ex chassis. Could be wrong but I don't remember it.

I was thinking that as well. I got ahold of the seller or whom ever and all I got was um and ah's when I asked for paperwork showing it was a byrd quad. That and 'its fast' and blows away everything, I ended it there. Looks decent, But IMO just another 400ex worth $2k maybe a tad more if that ran out perfect, But its still old quad and old technology.

I'm pretty sure byrd ran walsh hybrids and custom axis shocks not PEP. That's just a 400EX with a CRF stuffed in it.

Depending if it was actually built by houser I think it looks like a bad *** 400

Looks to me like it is a Houser frame. I know Houser did build hybrid frames at one time, they did use 400EX parts instead of the standard 250R parts. (400EX stuff was cheaper.) I also know the Houser frames had a no link rear suspension, which is what this one says it has. I would say this is not simply a 400EX with a CRF motor stuffed in it, but a well built hybrid.

As far as if it was once built for Joe Byrd, who knows, I am sure a phone call to Houser could probably shed some light.
