I'm waiting on my house to sell and I'm spending some $. My questions are the same as they were 12 years ago. I have a 2008. I want to be around 49.5" with or w/out 4+1 wheels with as little bump steer as possible and a long shock. Pro trax is out of the finance range and Walsh is too high too. Houser would be new to me. I haven't bought this stuff in years but they look to be a front runner. Let me know what you guys have seen.

I personally like JB Racing's a-arms. Alot of people run Walsh, Houser, loanstar and Holtz. I would suggest finding a set of used 04/05 spindles and hubs and buy the a-ars for those years. The 04/05 handle better due to the geometry.

You can find a used set of spindles and hubs for about $150-200 on here. When I was looking recently, there were quite a few people looking to sell them.

Kind of a loaded question, define "best"? Everyone has their favorites, and as long as you stick to a well known brand (Teixeira Tech, Laeger, Houser, LSR, etc.) I doubt you will be disappointed. If you do want the best handling, do what mxmike717 suggested and go with the 04/05 spindles, seems to be a better setup then the 06 and up spindles.

I have run Houser in the past on my 450R's and thought they were a good a-arm, no complaints. I currently run Teixeira Tech and am very happy with those also, I actually prefer them over the Houser arms I used to run, but Teixeira makes a desert specific arm, so they work better with my setup. Again, stick with a well known brand and you will be fine.

It's all personall preferance on the brand but if you really want the absolute best handling front end get a LTR spindle conversion from one of the higher end manufactures like walsh, JB or six 5.

I use Laeger t pin comes with bits own spindles. The 06 spindles handle better then 04 but 04 is stronger

I am a big fan of Houser. The adjustability is so easy and they use 2 bearings for each spot where it connects to the frame. It is very rare that the bearings need replaced.

Replacing the lower balljoint in Houser a-arms is a pain. It basically requires a press and a 36 mm socket. Just get the cheap 12-ton press from Harbor Freight.

This is the 1st time I have heard that the 06 spindles handle better than the 04's.

I didn't catch that. If you are buying new a-arms then you should definitely opt for the 2004/2005 hubs and spindles. I run them on both of mine. I run the 2006 spindles and hubs on the 400ex.
