I want to lighten up the apex. I know people are taking off the heavy front drum set up. What are they using? Also I want to get rid of that funky rear master cylinder it's heavy and sticks anyway. Anyone have a conversion for it? A hither suggestions would be nice also. I'm chaniging from the heavy rims also.

I would recommend sell it and buy one with what you want on it. I've made this mistake before. I went from standard travel 06 to a long travel using the same frame and it was costly and i could have done it cheaper and less painful by just getting another quad.

Your prolly right. I have enough projects. I do enjoy working on stuff. Sometimes there's more aggregation then needed. I thought I heard you could just get a set of hubs and brakes off a Yfz and spindles and just mount them on ? No ideas. I just bought a full setup. Hope it wasnt a waste

I think the rear is where you will run into problems. Probably a different axle, different master cylinder, brake pedal set up, then the brake and rotor. Just my opinion. Good luck and let us know how it turns out.. .

On the rear I'm just gonna get rid of the big bracket and pedals goto a regular mastercylinder and rig up a new pedal
The front drums have to heavy. Just trying to get the wieght down and brakes better

I have been looking into to changing the brakes as well for some time. There is always something needing to be done that keeps me from getting the brakes changed out. Maybe before next season...ugh. Was going thru some of the older posts and came across this one: http://www.atvriders.com/vbb/showthread.php?500226-Front-brake-master-cylinder

I had asked a similar question in the past and found one of my older posts about it see here:http://www.atvriders.com/vbb/showthread.php?492034-DID-Chains-Brake-issue

Also maybe this can help. http://www.atvriders.com/vbb/showthread.php?467519-getting-rid-of-drum-brakes
Good Luck & post on here if you get it fixed the way you want it.
