should i make this trade?

i have a trade deal set up right now for my 03 crf450r and another guys 06 trx450r. the only problem is the guy says oil leaks from the crankcase overflow hose. this concerns me but after searching online I see that alot of people say it means the oil level is too high. could this be the only concern? I'd hate to make the trade only to find out that now is have a quad that needs the motor taken apart.

oil blowby could be bad rings/piston or cylinder out of bore as well. i'd say go look at it, see if it smokes, see how it's running and if the thing looks to be in good condition it's a good trade. that quad is worth roughly 1000 more than the dirtbike. That's based on what i see 03crf's go for compared to 06 trx's.

he says it has only 10hrs on the topend with all oem parts and receipts to prove work was done. he also said that the motor and tranny oil was recently changed. he is about 1.5hrs away from me and meeting halfway is still a good little ride if its a dud. im going to meet up with him saturday and check it out, so hopefully all goes well. thanks for the help

I wouldn't proceed with the deal if I were in your shoes. For the reason that you don't know the person and how he actually maintained the atv. You will just inherent the problem and cost in repairing it.

Ended up passing on that one and trading another guy for a 2004 450r. I'm in the process of changing up a few things but I'll get some pics up when I'm done.
