I loosened the 4 bolts on the rear end, tightened my chain via the "half moon" (called the chain tensioner?) and then tightened the bolts back and began riding. Later in the day I noticed a very weird squeaky noise but couldn't find what was wrong. Last night I took a closer look in the garage and noticed the chain tensioner wasn't sitting flush to the rear end and had been rubbing against the sprocket which caused it to crack in half.

Any advice on where I can get the new part an how I should how about replacing? Will I have to take whole rear end out an replace bearings too? I tried uploading a pic but it isn't working from my phone.

Ok so I don't think the piece is called the chain tensioner. Anyone know what it is called so I can find a new one online.

that's the bearing carrier and you can get one online fairly cheap with bearings in it and seals just look up 400ex bearing carrier and yes you have to take the axle out and everything but it isn't hard I can change my bearing carrier out in about 45 mins
