I got my 94 link chain today from rocky mountain. It is about 3 links short. I have stock length swingarm, 14 tooth front and 39 rear. Any reason it would be short? I counted the links in the chain it has 93 so with the master link that would be right. Anyone seen this before I just don't understand. The last 400ex I had I ordered a 94 link from the same place and it fit great

Did you rotate the carrier back around to its shortest position?

I had the same problem my carrier wasn't rotated the right way when I put a new chain on and it was when I was putting everything back together I had 120 links I cut it down and it was to long and I cut one and it was to short and it was a day before the first race so I just run 2 master links

Yep

Seems to me that when I went down to 37 and 36 rear sprocket I could run the 94 link...but with a 39 rear had to get a longer link chain.....I used the 39 for tight slow woods and mud racing and some hill climbing....

I just sent it back. Ended up buying a 120 link and cutting it down to 98. Works great.

I'm thinking of changing my gearing again from 13/39 to 13/40 for alittle more takeoff power in drag racing. Would I have to do anything to the chain to fit the bigger rear sprocket?

I never order chain by length.

I usually get a full length or longer then stock and cut it myself for proper fitment and diff gearing options.
