I have two decent size cracks Bon each side of my rear plastic next to the seat and was wondering if anyone had any tips to fix it?

Zip ties

Well besides zip ties. They always break or loosen up.

Rivets and thin strips of alum. or stainless steel is how I fixed mine. Works well and wont loosen, and doesn't look to bad either.

Plastic welder, harbor freight sells a nice cheap on that works good. melt the metal mesh it comes with into the plastic on the back then reinforce the plastic with some of the plastic sticks they provide.

I'm gonna check that out right now. Sounds pretty cool. Is it pretty simple to do??

Works kinda like a soldering iron.

I used the harbour freight plastic welder to fix a leaky gas tank just the other day:bandit:

My advice would be to weld it from the underside so any defects dont show to bad.

OH! and to anyone using these plastic welders.

I ran out of plastic so I used a old water jug for extra weld on plastic. "almost any thin plastic will work"

And I actually melted everything in as much as possible, then iron'd it out smooth.

The red honda plastic i matched up pretty dang good with some plastic bins i had from home depot lol.

Oh word to the wise, dont leave the iron plugged in for LONG periods of time, tip will heat up and snap off.

I had the same problem with my right side fender in the same place. What I did was take a old license plate and cut it up to fit around the back corner there and then drilled holes both in the plate and plastics and punched rivets through to hold them together. Worked good for about 5 months before the plate cracked too from all that weight wiggling around. But it was really nice and sturdy up until then, in reality; there's no real way to fix broken, brittle plastics on these things other than to bite the bullet and buy new ones, which is exactly what I am going to be doing when finances allow.
