CDI's do next to nothing. 400ex's loose power after around 9,000rpm so you wouldn't need one.

I heard good about the White Brothers CDI but their hard to find.

White brothers cdi is a xr250 cdi box I have one that I used when my 400 was stock and it gave it a little more snap it wasn't anything amazing but it's was noticeable just riding around the yard but unless you have a pretty big cam where you it just never stops pulling its not needed a buddy of mine has a 426 13:1 comp edelbrock carb port and polished head and a web cam and his cdi has the rev limiter removed and it pulls for days

I have a White Brothers CDI....it is night and day over stock. There have been internet rumours for yrs. that is was a 250 cdi....with no facts to back it up. However they are no longer being made. JOHNDOE83 should chime in soon....if not try and pm him as he builds some drag quads. I believe Curtis Sparks sells a CDI still, might check them out. What a good cdi will do is change the power curve and raise the rpm limiter. I have never used the CDI you mentione, but several members here say its junk. Welcome to the forum.
