Aparently when I blew my sleeve, a piece of the sleeve mashed a gear tooth just slightly...inturn this makes a loud knocking noise when the motor is running. My question to the motorheads is, would this noise eventually go away once the teeth wears in? (I understand that the gears are Hardened) And would there be any other damage if the motor is driven with this damage. Or is this knocking story a big BS line?

I did look at the teeth and I only see one that is slightly mared in the inside of the tooth.

I recommend buying a new gear. Look at servicehonda.com. Stocks parts are really cheap there.

13420-HN1-000 SHAFT, BALANCER $84.72

That is for the whole shaft, balance and gear. It doesn't break down to just the gear at servicehonda.

don't buy from them, OEM retailers always sell for WAY to much, you can find them on ebay for like 5 dollars, yes eventually the noise will go away, but its not good on non of the gears, end up replacing more then you need....
