Last thursday i bought a whole running yz465 for $50. The bike itself is rough, but motor will start but needs carb kit and some maintenence. The only part im not real happy with is being air cooled and no lights. I'm short for time for now so try to post the build as i can. My orginal plan was to use my buddies xr500 engine but at the last minute he bailed.

Things i would like to know is will I465/490 lighting stator fit or do i need whole ignition system to swap.
Some info on how to rebuild/build up one of these things

Every part of bike in pic is for sale
warrior engine parts also for sale (bent rod and scored cylinder)

things i need are:
trx250r pipe (cheap)
warrior seat,
yz465 intake boot
yz lighting stator, ect.

I have a FMF pipe I'll sell cheap, it's a little rusty.. I was saving it for a hybrid project too that never got off the ground.

a 250r pipe wont work. the engine wont run right. maybe a trx250r big bore pipe might work but pipes are designed for specific engine size and tune. good luck with this build very cool idea.

There are few that i have found with similar hybrid builds using trx pipes. My plan was to use the r's pipe as a layout and redesign stinger and so on. The other members have not responded yet though.

Google two stoke exhaust formulas. It will help you figure out the size of the expansion chamber.

The trx pipe works out to perfect for these motors actually

Beastly you still interested in engine parts. I could split cases if i got time. I would still think the stinger needs to be enlarged just because its twice the cc's?

Application, it's what's been proven before by many others that have done this swap. You need to talk to darkrider? I believe on e2s, he knows everything you need to know about these yz swaps

Maybe, I don't wanna pay much for it though. I'm picking up yet another warrior Sunday with a locked up motor

The build has not began yet due to lack of time but im still starved of info for these motors. i also moved the build to e2s.com with not much info there either.

I had found a few build threads on e2s but no response from either, also cannot find darkrider. As

Ok so today I bought a 250r ftz big bore pipe with power core 2 for $130. Also engine mounts about 75% done. Will post pics when I can. I'm also looking at 40mm snowmibile carbs that can be picked up for less than $75, stock is 36mm mic.

Pics added.....

exhaust is fully mounted, motor brackets only need finish weld upon tear down, custom intake done. Waiting on yz250 kick lever and shaft for extension/conversion, front 12t sprocket, universal vm40 throttle cable, air filter and rear axle bearings. Thing I need or would trade for are airbox lid, and seat. I only have 660 pegs mathius and I think my covers good for now.

I started making custom pegs....... they will be welded higher than whats pictured now, to allow for braces below.

The counter shaft being moved forward that much should be higher. Pivot bolt lowered would let you lower the engine. Did the pivot bolt go through the engine in the dirt bike?

Motor looks to be mounted more forward than I would have expected and it's also sitting high. Doesn't the stock warrior 350 mount through the swing arm pivot and how does the Dirtbike motor mount in the yz frame? I have seen a build, i don't know if was ever finished but the guy put the yz490 motor in a trx 250r and he also used a trx pipe. The yz400 2 stroke motor into a blaster seems to be a popular swap and there's a guy on YouTube that has one it the thing rips. Make sure u post a video of this thing when it's finished! Good luck
