I seem to have the worst luck getting in contact with sellers on Ebay. I bought a brand new CCP for my girlfriend's 300ex back in the beginning of May, and have finally went to installling it a few weeks ago. The directions say that it mounts at the back of the steering stem, because if you mount it in the front the linkage arm hits the front frame rails. You can't mount it behind the stem like it says either because the front brake line rod mounts there. I honestly would just like a refund if there is no way for me to mount it. I have sent him various emails, none of which have been responded to. What do you guys think? Does anyone have any pictures of how it is mounted? Thanks.

Not exactly sure how the 300 mounts, but the 400 I had on the side of the stem

Do you have pics? I am getting upset over this. It's $180 dollars that has just been sitting there...

Sorry i dont.

But if you can picture this:

You want the mount with the arm facing at a right angle and straight, then the mount to the stem goes at a right angle as well.

I should have specified. By the back of the stem, I mean that the puck of the stabilizer itself (what the arm and linkage mount to and what mounts to the frame rails) doesn't work. I know that the stabilizer linkage arm has to almost be Like an [ wants it's mounted. What I am saying is you can't physically mount it in the back because of the brake line rail, and you can't mount it in the front because the linkage hits the front frame rail. There is no way to mount it on the sides of the stem at all because there wouldn't be a frame rail for it to attach to.

As you can see from the pictures, if you try to mount it in the front of the stem, the linkage arm hits the frame. You can't mount it in the rear because of the brake line rod thing.

im not 100% possitive, by i think you got it in backwards, as in if you are staring at the quad, looking at the front, to the back, the linkage arm is to be on the right hand side. id say the mounted the base up backwards before he sent it to you. mine on my 400 is on the right hand side, and so is my buddies on his ltr. you can unbolt the base from the puck and flip it around and it should work.

this is how its supposed to go in.

I flipped the base and still can't get it to work. It hits the front frame rail still and the puck rubs on the steering stem. I literally had to tap it into where it mounts with a hammer because the bracket and puck of the stabilizer don't fit well. I guess I am going to try filing a claim through PayPal and see what they say...

it goes in FRONT of the stem, then the arm goes at a 90 degree angle to the stem and the clamp 90 degrees to that.

It also appears you got the base backwards "300EX" should face forwards.

I have tried every way that I can think of. I have tried putting the linkage arm on the left or right side, with the same result.

I messaged him on ebay and got a response in like 30 mins. Maybe you should try again?

Maybe your frames bent?

I think it was the paint my dad used on it. It goes in, but you have to tap it with a hammer. I emailed him for the 4th time now. Custom CNC, correct?

Filed a claim. They said it doesn't qualify for a refund. CJM, can you email him and see if you can get detailed pictures of how this things mounts? I don't know what to do here... I feel like I am out $180 on a part that is just sitting there.

No offense to you but I guarantee this stabilizer was meant for a quad that had at least aftermarket a arms with extended brake lines. If you didn't have the stock brake set up you would be able to mount it behind the stem no problem...Most people don't need a stabilizer for a stock quad in my experience.

No where does it say in his description that it requires this. Am I so wrong for trying to make the bike ride as safe as possible for her? I know you said no offense and everything, but by me buying this stabilizer for this specific model I expect it to work. Now I am going to have to figure out how to fabricate it to make it work or just sell it how it is.
