400ex Recall!

I just got my ATV Sport buyers guide and it says Honda is recalling some 2000 and 2001 400ex's becuase the brake pads could of been assembled wrong. It says to call your Honda dealer and schedule a free inspection if you have the following serial numbers.

2000 TRX400EX
478TE230*Y4000001 to 478TE230*Y4028370
and
478TE232*Y4000001 to 478TE232*Y4001140

2001 TRX400EX
478TE230*14100001 to 478TE230*14103720
and
478TE230*14100001 to 478TE232*14100600

I got a card from Honda like a year ago. I thought that Atv Sport was a little slow on this story. :rolleyes: By the way mine were fine.

Yeah mine is one of the models recalled and I got a card about a year ago and never got them checked.....think I should?

norm u really don't need to take it bc u would know if ur break pads aren't on right... what happened was the break pad was put on so it went brake pad, brake pad, rotor, piston(thing that pushes the pads together). it would make a loud noise of metal on metal and u would see a wear ring on ur rotor.
