THE MASON-DIXON ADULT MINICROSS SHOOTOUT

Rausch Creek MX & ATV Park in Tremont, PA and The Landing MX in Easton, MD present The Mason-Dixon Adult Minicross Shootout for the 2003 racing season. The shootout will be a six race series pitting the North vs. the South to determine who is the best Adult Minicross racer on the east coast. Three races will be held at Rausch Creek MX & ATV Park and three races will be held at The Landing MX. The series will be run a two-drop format, so only the four best finishes will be counted for each racer. This will also allow racers to miss up to two rounds without worry of getting to far behind in championship points. Each racer is required to attend at least one event at each track in order to qualify for the championship.

The series schedule is as follows:

Round One Sunday, March 30th Round Two Sunday, April 20th
Round Three Sunday, July 13th Round Four Sunday, August 10th
Round Five Sunday, August 24th Round Six Sunday, September 7th

Adult Minicross Rules and Regulations
· All riders must be over the age of sixteen years of age and weigh over 100 pounds.
· A rider under the age of eighteen must have a parent or legal guardian present to race and have a Minor Form and Release signed.
· All riders in question will have to show valid identification to verify age and to enter.
· Classes will be broken down into the following categories: 50cc stock, 50cc modified, middleweight-open carriage, and unlimited up to 150cc. Decisions may be made race day to fit certain machines into the appropriate category. These decisions will be made in the interest of fairness, will not be challenged, and is the policy of the Promoter.
· A Race entry fee of $30.00 (Thirty dollars) will be paid at sign up for each event.
· The only practice will be on race day prior to racing. The track will not be open to public riding during the day’s race activities.
· The Promoter reserves the right to challenge any decision or dispute, and make the final decision on qualifications, points and or race results. All decisions made by the Promoter are final.
· Daily prizes will be paid in accordance to attendance. Series prizes will be paid at the end of a race series as well in accordance to class sizes and attendance/sponsor support and is not to be disputed in any way.
· The Promoter will not be held liable for damage to persons or property while racing or riding practice at any event or hold any sponsor liable as well.
· Proper riding gear will be worn while racing/riding practice. This means HELMET, GLOVES, GOGGLES, LONG-SLEEVE SHIRTS and BOOTS will be worn at all times. Boots can be of any kind that will give proper ankle support. We understand that for the mini-racing it is hard to ride with MX boots so work boots or a boot with ankle support is acceptable. Practicing safe riding is still the key to safety.
· Trophies will be paid out to the top riders of all classes. Trophies will be awarded to the top three finishers in each class.
· No race shall be run without the help of volunteer flagmen/score keepers, and an official representing the Promoter.
· There will be no refunds of entry fees for any reason. If a race is canceled to weather or some other reason a new date will be issued for that race.
