Those coming from the North and Midwest.... Avoid Rt.58 off of I77. From 77 go north on Rt.81 to Roanoke...
Rt.58 is a hilly route and you may burn out your brakes...

Common Rocky, 58 is the route we send the rookies. LOL
IMO, Their recommended route isn't that great either.
We always made the loop down around Greensboro and back up. MUCH better.
I went Rt.58 once.
