What exactly does this change?

gen 1 spindles have a better geometry and therefore handle and turn better.

Does that mean the spindle itself is lower or what? If its just a castor adjustment, that can be done with aftermarket a arms.

04/05 spindles have less offset than the 06+ so they are a little narrower and have a better turn radius than the newer spindles.

If you change the spindles, you have to change your hubs too.

I've run both and seriously doubt if running the 04/05 combo is going to be the difference between 1st place and 2nd place. There are bigger results from having your front shocks work well for turns while also working well for bumps and jumps.

If you are that serious about having the best then I'd likely look to Walsh for fitting the LTR components on the TRX.

You can also get nice improvement in turning from a Walsh steering stem with adjustable tab stops at the bottom. The stock Honda stem doesn't allow the 2006+ to turn that tight. Not so much noticeable on a track but definitely in the woods.

Just to clarify, if you switch to 04/05 spindles you must use 04/05 arms as well. The same year a arms have to go with the corresponding year spindles and hubs, so basically if you wanted to do this mod you would need all 3, hubs, spindles, and arms.

it makes a HUGE difference. 06+ turns like a mac truck. When you switch to the 04/05 setup it turns and handles so much better. you do need spindles, hubs, and a-arms either the upper or lower a-arms are the same though. Most aftermarket doesn't even make a-arms for the 06+ spindles

Upper arms are different, lowers are the same
