There is a new VP dealer about a mile from my house and after reading some of the recent threads, I think i'm gonna make the switch from 93 at 32:1 with Motul to something from VP. Is there a specific type I should look for or octane?

I run c12 at 32:1 in my R. I think it's about 110 octane. If your going to make the switch to race fuel I'd bump up the compression a bit to take full advantage of the fuel or else there's really no benefit to running it. If you run a thinner head gasket to raise the compression and run the vp you'll notice a very nice increase in power.

We have the VP Distributor for the Midwest here in the town I live it, fresh race fuel all the time. I run straight 110 32:1 with Castor929. Smells like a cotton candy machine. :)

Like mentioned, check the compression. Compression dictates octane.
If 93 octane was not detonating, you may not need race fuel.
