I took my headpipe off and polished it and when I put it back on it has a leak.Is there anything I should put on it that will make it seal better. If so give me your ideas on what will make it seal better.

Thanks

Like what kind of gaskets?I never knew that you had to put gaskets on the head pipe. Its leaking right around the head of the engine.

Is the copper cruch ring in the head and not the headpipe? What do you do just screw the new crush ring in then attch your headpipe?Sorry if this sounds like a stupid question but I realy didn't know.

Thanks

directly between the head pipe and the cyl head are the copper crush rings. they are just simple rings that are formed in place when the head pipe is tightened. You will find them in the recessed area where your head pipe meets.they may be kind of a pain to get out expecially if they are worn, but you should be able to pry them out with a screwdriver. clean up the area and you should be able to see the copper color of the rings then you will know what to pry on, (they will be black from exhaust). hope this helps.
