I have a yz125, and it has 97 yz125 plastic on it, and i cant seem to get it to shine......i used soap and water, a power washer and just scrubbing it....while powerwashing it, 2 stickers blew off, and i saw the original plastic color.....WHITE! in the picture u can see it on the rear fender....my friend suggested re-painting it.....i dunno if that would work, but its an idea...what kind of stuff do u guys use to get grime and grease off the plastic and make it shine?

Buy new plastic...
Or you could use a plastic refurnishing product. There was a thread http://www.exriders.com/vbb/showthread.php?threadid=47061&highlight=automotive+clearcote that might have some tips. painting wouldnt hold up very well probably. Try scrubbing and more scrubbing with soap and stuff. The plastic refurnishing is expensive. Or buy a rear graphics kit.

Wash it off after you use it though...and dont if you dont need to! My dad set a rag with that stuff on it on the clothes line and it ate the plastic coating off....if it sits or you use a lot, your in for trouble.

its kinda hard to see(its dark out and that was taken in my garage....) but it really looks way better, u can barely see the color difference from where the stickers were...

On white plastic you can use bleach and it will turn out very white. Be carefull handling it and where you use it.

use turtle wax!

no never use wax on plastic. If you have scratches the wax will fill them and turn colors and its hard to get out. I sugest armorall.

Tire gel works good. You may want to use a little soft scrub on it first to make it white again. Or, by new fenders. They're cheap compared to quad plastic!:scary:

I agree. Just get new plastics.

Front fender - $19.99
Rear fender - $18.99
Radiator scoops - $31.99
Side Panels - $47.99

or just go with the kit

Whole plastic kit - $107.99

Thats super cheap and will make your bike look like new, and you get a choice of Black, Dark Blue, White, or YZ Blue.
