Just wondering if anyone keeps that black plastic heat shield under the gas tank. It's always a PITA to get it off and back on when I check my valves and change the plug and wondering if I could just take it off.

Your rear plastics clip into it... Once you take it off and on a few times its not that big of a deal.

Bingo.
Leave it on there. It helps keep your harness and cables in a spot where it doesn't move either.

Oh yea, I forgot that they pop in the sides. Well I guess I'll just learn to take it on and off a little faster then.

It's much easier to take off if you remove the carb first. Just a tip, you can remove the plug without taking the heat shield off if you use the plug socket in the tool kit.

I trim mine in a few key spots. Makes it easier and doesn't hold as much mud.
