I removed the negative batter cable on the back of the starter motor to give room to remove the cam chain tensioner two months ago. My top end rebuild is done and I can't remember if something goes on this bracket in the middle where there is a bolt hole. It almost looks like maybe the battery cable is supposed to go there but I can see the imprint from the battery terminal on the right bolt so I put it back there. This is a 2006, anyone know how this is supposed to look or if there is something else that goes there that I am completely forgetting?

Thanks.

idk if an 06 is gonna be the same as the earlier years, but i'd say thats where the parking break cable ring bolts on.. i could be wrong, my 04 just uses one of the starter bolts.

Thanks for the quick reply, I want to put the exhaust on tonight but need to make sure this is right with it being behind the pipe.

You might be right about the parking brake cable ring as I removed the parking brake and if that is it I don't need to worry about it. Does your battery cable terminal go in the middle of the bracket or on the bolt like I have it? Or did the parking brake ring go in the middle?

That ground that you have on the starter mounting bolt is supposed to go on that bracket on 05-07s but it will be fine as it is.

I don't think it does atvrider, my '05 400ex has it attached just like Blodg has in the picture, except it's on the opposite bolt. I'm almost positive that what dasher said is correct, it's a place to bolt the parking brake cable bracket.
