So my 400ex is bored to a 416, wiseco 11:1 piston, stage 2 hotcam, white brothers e-series (made it into a shorty), with a stock air filter. Its running rich it fouls the plug after 4 or 5 hours of riding time on it. Main jet is 155 and pilot is 38 so I have no idea as to why it is running rich. Also air flow is 2.5 turns out. I've been told by a few people to lower the fuel needle, only problem being the 2 screws and the slide are stripped. Is there any other way to get the needle out and will this fix my problem?
Drill the screws out is about all you can do.

Might try some needle nose vise grips. I know it's a tight fit though..

$14 on ebay if you can't get them out: http://www.ebay.com/itm/TRX-400EX-400-EX-CARBURATOR-THROTTLE-SLIDE-STOCK-OEM-/121096904184?pt=Motors_ATV_Parts_Accessories&hash=item1c31f01df8&vxp=mtr
I've been lucky and got them out with needle nose vise grips or put a screwdriver in the screw, then smacked the screwdriver handle with a hammer to get a better bite, but I know I got extremely lucky every time I did that so I went and bought 10 new ones. So if I ever have one strip out when I take them out again I'll just throw a new one in just to be safe. That brass is stupid soft.
Ive often thought of trying to find some stainless ones. I dont suppose it makes any difference the material. Maybe allens would even be better.
