lt230s carburetor bog

i have an old 88 lt230s quadsport. it runs great, has wiseco piston and cobra exhaust. I've jetted the carb and it has always fired right up and runs like a top. Now if every hit any kind of whoops, or a decent size jump the carburetor bogs out immediately after. What causes this? could the float be set too low? i've never had any other quad do this, and ive owned both 2 and 4strokes. under normal trail riding it does fine, just hits a bad dead spot right after jumping. any help would be appreciated
