My daughters quad ran great, pulled holeshots, until about half way thru the the race it started acting like it was in to high of a gear coming out some of the corners. It would come back and start ripping it up again afrter about 20ft. It doesn't do this at every corner so I don't have any idea on what to do. Any ideas.

Its a kasea 70 but I think the engine came out of an eton. It has a koso adjustable clutch with a 1500 torsion spring. It has keihen 24mm carb, and a metrakit pipe, I think the engine is a billy holt built malossi.

How old is the torque spring. Maybe it needs replacing. What brand torque spring is it?

Top Gun 1500 spring is silver. If that's what it is that's a great spring, but you could try another just to see.

Is it normal for a spring to only last 3 motos

No that's not normal for a spring to wear out in 3 motos. I'm no expert at CVT tuning, but have you torn it down yet? Pull everything apart and check for parts that are binding. Do you clean the cvt regularly?

Couple things to look for. 1st make sure the variatoris not sticking on the chrome shaft, clean the brass good. Next, make sure the rear clutch is not dried out and is also twisting and opening smoothly. Sometimes they dry out and get ratchetey.

I'll pull it apart and clean everything tonight. What part of the rear clutch do I need to lube?
Thanks,
Lonnie

Thanks Pac,
Thats basically what I've been doing. I did notice that on the torque spring there was a cap on one end, what does that do.

1st off that goofy lookin guy is entirely too neat.
The cap on the top of the torque spring comes with that clutch. It allows the spring to twist inside the clutch without binding. Mallossi makes one that is yellow.
The video didn't show how to lube the rear clutch. You have to twist the collar that the spring sits in off the clutch. Under that cap will be 3 pins running in slots. Those need greased and slide the collar back down. Lube the collar so you don't damage the rubber o rings.

Pac, sort of, its the same shape but its metal. Logans I've never tore that apart so I'm sure it needs a good lubing.
Thanks,
Lonnie
