Admin banned my email

I logged on to change my user settings, noticed my email was out of date and I went to change it, banned. Clicked the forum button and I got back in somehow, is this a known bug?

They banned several free emails eons ago b/c spammers kept signing up.

Was it gmail?

Yeah the old and new are both gmail.

I knew there were issues with spam and stuff, but didnt know too much about it

Yup, gmail was hacked some while back and we were getting 300-500 new registrations daily, of which 99% were spambots. Since the registration was manual....IE me doing it, it had to go.

They tried installing updated registration software that screwed things up so bad they had to disable new registrations period.

A new site is almost done, it just is not a top priority due to work schedules etc.
