Has anyone ever ran a wiseco cam? Its for my 08. I ordered a 13.5:1 piston and I'm going to do standard sized valves and hd valve springs. I know everyone is going to say web is a better cam, but I'm on a tight budget trying to do all this before round 3 at ballance. And I can get the wiseco under wholesale. Any input wil be appreciated.

It wouldn't surprise me if the Wiseco cam is really someone else's cam in a Wiseco box. Give Wiseco a call and see if they can give you some more info on it.

The part that has me worried is they say that the exhaust lift is only 5 mm.

bigger valve with a good port job will produce alot more velocity
you should bite the bullet and get the cam you want !

I'm about to build a 05. So I'm just gonna get my 08 to where it will run decent. I don't want to spend a whole lot of money on it right now. I might just go with the hrc or hotcam for now.

i have one in my 05 and have the adjustable cam gear. I have it degreed -5 degrees. with my ported head, +1 exhaust valves it produces amazing mid range punch

That camshaft on 08 up is a much different compressor design
Crfs are the same ?

but seriously have you looked into seeing if anyone has ported these heads for the trx? I would imagine it would add some serious HP if done right, or kill it if done wrong

on another note use all crf gaskets to bump the compression and maintain a good bottom end...

and please give a ride report

I'm going to get my cousin to do all my port work. He used to race 4 stroke pro am in the 90's and built his own stuff. I'm hoping it will be in the high 50's hp. I will definitely give a ride report. If everything goes my way ill be at ballance Mx at the end of this month.

What valve/valve spring setup do you guys recommend? I'm on a budget and I would like this thing to last a decent amount of time. I'm more than likely going with a stainless valve, just unsure on the spring. I'm pretty hard on the rev limiter if that helps any..

If you have a buddy who can port why in the world would you switch to a CRF head? 06+ TRX head is a much better head. Ferrea valves (going to have to cut the seats) and Kibblewhite or PSI springs.
