So I just rebuilt the top end on my wife's '07 400ex. Been running amsoil synthetic oil in it for as long as I can remember. Went out camping/riding last weekend and probably put about 2-3 hours of total ride time on it for its first ride. I heard when I got back that you shouldn't run synthetic during break in. I've never heard this before and figured that any quality oil would be great for the motor. Can I switch back to regular conventional motor oil and continue to break it in the way it's apparently supposed to be? I'd hate to have to replace rings or something already if the synthetic messed anything up. I know there are about 100 different opinions on how to break in an engine properly. Just thought I see what you guys thought.

I just did a top end rebuild too, and if I was in this situation I would probably switch it, hoping not to mess anything up. You should be alright tho.

I would definitely drain the synthetic, add conventional oil and ride it real hard.
