Ok i emailed baldwin and heres what they told me:
Delivery time on ZPS Front Shocks is approximately 8 to 10 weeks, the cost
is $895.00 for the pair. Yes, we can convert the 400EX rear shock to ZPS for
the cost of $425.00. Right now is a very good time for me as I do not have a
shop full of modifications yet. After the new year I will be swamped with
everyone trying to get ready for the 2002 season and I will not be able to
guarantee the wait time.

I dont think that is that long of a wait. If you are going to redo your 400 over the winter anyway. I think I am going to get this setup.

$425 for the rear conversion? It used to be $325. I would call Nac`s and ask them how long the wait is and how much the rear conversion is.

Really they must of raised it or baldwin is more. This is for the ZPS though too.

Why not just have Elka convert the rear? It's only 275. Almost half the price of the PEP's rear conversion

I would call Nac`s and see if it is just Baldwin because the $325 was for the ZPS.

i Hope nacs one is cheaper because i really didnt want to spend that much on a conversion.

8-10 weeks huh, sweet. Last time i heard, it was 5months. MY source wasn't real reliable though. I'm gonna be ordering me some PEP ZPS in the next couple of weeks. and my a arms to. Unless i get an amazing sponsor that will give me a LoboII kit for really cheap, i am getting chrome laegers.

I was thinking +2 a arms. Then when i get ready to buy my swingarm i was going to get the +1 swingarm. Does that sound smart for MX riding. Or should i get +2+1 a arms and a +1 swingarm too?

Oh yeah, i was also wondering what baldwin's Email address is.

U dont think they make +2+1 for the 400ex.

p.e.p. is definately the way to go, my friend has two full sets of zps shocks, ones to ride on and the other to swap out the worn out ones to get them rebuilt.
then throw in the freshly rebuilt ones. talk about smarts
;)

I'm positive that they make +2+1 for the 400ex

Go to Baldwinmotorsports.com and you can find the email from there. I would just get the plus 2`s. I don`t really hear much about the plus 2, plus 1`s for the 400ex. The chrome should look sweet.

You might want to look at TCS shocks, when I got them for my R, they were at my door in less than 2 weeks, and they build them custom just like PEP. They are also a little cheaper on both the fronts and the rear conversion than the PEP's that you quoted from baldwin. If oyu are sold on PEP then ignore this post, but I love my TCS's and they got them to me real quick!

i just got my PEP shocks in today, i bolted them up and rode on them for a couple mins. i didnt get much time because it was raining. very nice soft ride and i tried to bottom them but came nowhere close. they are only the 600$ ones, the zps are diffrent and better in alot of ways. they are well made to.

keep in mind if you send your rear to get rebuilt it will take awhile, last i was told i should send them in now if i want them back before april......

nac's400ex,
check out my photo page i have pep zps shocks on my 400ex with a real zps in the rear and on my 250r the rear is a convertion, both work awsome i would never use any other shocks on my bikes. in my OPINION pep zps is the way to go.

What did you do to your 250r? Did you break the a-arm or the spindle or what?

i broke a ball joint when i landed from a jump, it wasnt bad ive seen it happen to other guys. only cost me $15.00 for a new ball joint.

51, i havent been up to jack that much this year, the last time i was there back in like august it sucked, the changed the track around and i dont like it.
thay have that rule of jumping one of the 2 big double on the big track which isnt usually a problem but the approches to both jumps are so rutted out i wasnt going to try it.
the other far track used to be good but they put in so may jumps that theres too many you cant get out of second geer, its just not fun.
next year there supposed to have the quad track ready so we'll see what happens, ill let you know when i go up the next.

this year i did alot of riding at a practice track a freind built down in central jersey, thats were most of the pictures on my page were takin
