Precision clamps & cross bar question

May be a silly question, but i just got the precision clamps for my 7/8" renthal bars, do i really need to re install thevcross bar? I know the bars will be weaker, but how much & is it really needed? For xc riding btw

ive never put renthal bars on anything, but im 100% sure that if they are aluminum i'd put the crossbar back on. the first time you hit a bump and lean too hard on the bars theyre going to fold down like a pretzel.. or just break.. just my opinion

They were designed to have the crossbar. So leave it in there.

Thanks guys, kind of what i figured. So in all the pics of people with the clamps, like garon davis's build, are they all running fat bars?
