Yea Warriorman, I have a Duncan on order actually. I think I am going to call Duncan and get a tracking number for it, I am getting a little impatient with them..Thanks for the compliments guy. One thing that made me mad about the Gibsons, very first ride, the stickers came off :(

I was going to say a Duncan bumper would look good because that front end looks a lot like a Roll. How are the PEP's?

Oh Warriorman....the stock are awesome..I will really find out this weekend though, Iam going to a track that I always practice on, so I know exactly what it feels like on stock shocks.. There are 2 jumps there that if I clear......then I will be very happy...The one is 80 ft  Maybe we will wait on that one...lol

hey YLW400, I just sold my 250r wiht the gibson front end, and jsut got a 400ex. It has a 435 kit form CT that cost about $4000, adn someother crap, but i was wondering, should i get Gibson again??? and if so, what kinda shocks??? Should i get Axis again, or Elka, PEP or TCS??? I really liek the ELKA quad rates, but i dont know, and PEP's are Freikin awesome! But i dont know... thanks, Alex. I'll show you pic's when i pick it up Sat.

I am no pro on front ends or anything Houser, but I love my Gibson, PEP setup. Maybe you should look into Walsh also, the seem to have the same "Gullwing" look. If you liked the Gibsons on your old quad, then I say go with them again. If I were you I would (unless you have to time to wait) go with Gibson and Axis. If you aren't in a big hurry, there is always PEP. There is a really good "A" rider that I know, and he is running JRD with Elka L/T. From what he told me, it is a nice setup. You will have a little wait on Axis, but nothing like PEP. I dont know anything about Elka or any other guys, but I have ridden on both PEP and Axis, and I will tell you they are both awesome shocks. THe Axis seemed a little softer to me... And they were actually valved for a heavier guy I think. Your call. Hope I helped a little. If you do get Gibson....Make sure you use loc-tite on the kingpin setup. I had a bolt fall out of mine at Budds Creek. Thank god I saw my spindle flopping around before the arm dropped into the mud...I still flew over the handlebars...LMAO But I was going prety slow. C-ya, YLW

LOL... I liked Gibson, but want something dff. and i saw the JRD, they looked cool like the roll arms. And probably gettin Elka, Cuz I want them soon, and PEP takes like 4-6 months, and axis is a 2 month wait, and i want them soon, so I'll probably go JRD/Elka. I'll look at walsh though, but they dont have pics. I saw a quad at east coast atv, all walsh and i think they were them, but not sure. thanks, alex

I'm sure you can't go wrong with JRD and Elka.

Looks Great YLW... I love that set up.. Prolly one of my favorites of all time..I am thinking about running that on my CRF this summer but not 100% sure what I wanna do. I might just go with Axis and JRD...

Got any actions pics?

YLW400
04-04-2003, 06:10 AM
Thanks alot Sparks. Axis and JRD would be good to I bet. I dont have any cool action pics yet. I have a race Sunday, I will try and train the wife on the digital camera. She is a little slow with it, and she gets excited when I am racing, taking pics of the ground and stuff...LMAO Hopefully I can post some Sunday night

I got my PEP long travels in a week:eek: ...but they werent new...
just look for a used set and have the fluid and seals changed and you wont have to wait more than a couple weeks for the PEPs....but i think i am going to buy some axis front later whe i have more money, ill probably compare the two and post it up on here

Gibson, Herrmann, Walsh....all made about the same...perform the same I would think....

Gibsons=1100k and Dave Gibson's monkey squad on here doesnt sound like a crew you would want to deal with if something breaks.

Walshs=1200k very nice.

Hermmanns=775$ just as good if not better as the other two, great customer service, and not near as expensive.

The walshs are sweet !! the hermann arms are sweet too !! the gibsons look really cool and im curious as to how well they perform?? its deff a different design but i still think i would have to go with something a little more reasonable (price wise) and something that has been PRO tested out of these 3 choices i would take the walsh arms/PEP setup !! i know the walshs are high(1200) but compared to a laeger tpin or a roll design that pretty fair in my opinion !! i have met and talked with mike walsh myself and would recommend his products to anyone(i cant afford them yet but when i build my YZ426 i will be using his entire chassis)

Just my 2 cents

Heck for LT arms I would wait and check out the new Arens before I went and bought anything else. For $600 they will be hard to beat...

Look at the balljoints though, they use the same style upper and lower as most use just for upper, it looks weaker, but still stronger than most standard travel aarms
