My son had hist first race on the Raptor this weekend and did awesome. The Raptor was a little under powered, but since the track is pretty tight and he was the most aggressive kid on the jumps, he made up for it and won both Motos.

Unfortunately his Elkas didn't make here in time, but it didn't seem to slow him down. I'm sure his body will appreciate it when they do get put on though. haha

Here is a video of him along the back stretch at practice Friday night.

Here is the video I put together real quick from their 2nd moto.

Thanks. It's his favorite track. This was at NCMP in Henderson NC. It's a pretty sweet facility run by a great bunch of people. They have a full MX course, SX track, small youth track, intermediate mx track, flat rrack, and about 15 miles of trails they use for fun and xc racing. NCMP.net or northcarolina motorsportspark on facebook.
They have a Saturday night SX series and this was the first one of the year. We'll be back there for the next one in two weeks with a fresh set of Elkas that they of course tried to deliver on Saturday.

Here's the video of him last Saturday at the D-13 MX race at VMP. He had a pretty good day. He came in 3rd in the first moto, and 2nd in the 2nd moto out of 6 kids.
This is the 1st lap of each moto.

You better get that boy some suspension ASAP(a-arms and shocks). Great ride for a 10 year old on a lesser machine! You may have a superstar on your hands. I'm truely impressed cause those DRR's and Apex's should crush that Raptor.
Let the opening of the wallet begin....lol

Let the opening of the wallet begin....lol lol thanks. He had the elkas on for this race. Im not sure I wanna put a arms on it though as he still rides the trails with it and they are pretty tight. we have some 1" wheel spacers on it for the track which help a little. He def loves the jumps, and that's where he excels. We just jetted the carb today to be able to take the air box lid off and he was all smiles. Hopefully the procom box gets here tomorrow. We are going to my hometown in PA this weekend to let him race in front of my family at a little track called Pymatuning Holeshot Raceway.

Ole Pymatuning. Been there a couple times.
He looks like a motocross'er to me. Shell out the cabbage and make it a full on race machine. Engine work is next!
You are aware that the ATV Nationals has a new 125 4 stroke Jr. class right? He'd do very well.

The Raptor started out as his fun trail bike as his Honda 90 was his race bike, but after seeing how much it was gonna cost to really make the Honda a good race bike, we decided to let him rce the Raptor since the stock chassis was already way better than his modified Honda chassis.

We haven't even looked at any national classes. As he's only been racing MX/SX since last summer. That sounds cool though. I can't believe more manufacturers don't make good small race quads.
He says he wants to play football this summer/fall, so if he does I'm not gonna go all out for a race quad if he's not 100% committed to it.

I agree with Logan's Dad. Get that kid some suspension and build the motor and really show them boys what you got.
My son races Pitster Pros with ATV FOURPLAY suspension. Tom makes awesome stuff for both the Pitster and the Raptor. We are headed to our 1st national at Balance next weekend. I don't know who is more excited me or my son. Looks like you have a full blown motocrosser on your hands.Any way good luck and I hope you guys great success.

Thanks. Ya, I really like atv fourplays stuff, and that is probably what I would build him if he decides to focus on racing.

Hell he is 10 . Let him have fun and be active. My son Adam races pretty much year round with the indoor stuff plus plays Baseball, Basketball and does Karate. The football things does require a little more time but I wouldn't commit a youngster to Just one sport. Adam isn't going to play football till Highschool. That was the rule in our house growing up and it's the way I am going to do it. I was still able to get a Division 1 scholarship for football and I have had the 8 knee surgeries to prove it.lol . It's a great sport Just like most are but my opinion is don't Just commit to one let them play a variety and have fun. And from your videos your son shows that he has some riding skills

Ya, nfortunately his football games will be on Saturdays for 3 months, so that will keep him from racing that whole time. the other problem is he is at his moms every other weekend, and she wont bring him to races on her weekends. so it makes it hard. But he def does show the desire to race and he has a knack for it especially since he's only been doing it for about 8 months.
We'll see how this football thing works out.

Good Luck to you guys. That ashame his mother won't support his racing. I've seen it before with other kids at some of our local tracks. It would be nice to get this 4 stroke class some more support.Hoping for a good turnout at Ballance.

We jetted the carb, put a modified EHS airbox lid on, added the CDI, and the cam should be here tomorrow. Hopefully it wakes it up a bit. He ha another SX race this Saturday to try it out on.

We went crazy and did a double header yesterday. First we went to his District 13 MX race. He ended up coming in 3rd in both motos and rode well all day.
Here is the first lap of each moto from his helmet cam.

Here is a quick video from behind the holeshot and of him hitting a jump.

Then we rushed 2 hrs away to make it to the SX race at NCMP. It was by far his most competitive race in his short 9 month race history. He learned a tough lesson about leaving the door open on a tight turn. Lol

Unfortunately we got rained out before the second moto. Everyone was really looking forward to see what was gonna happen next.

Overall it was a great day of family fun.

Here are some videos and pictures from the race this past Saturday at NCMP in NC.

Here is moto 1 from NCMP Saturday nite SX. Braden was chasing David around the track and had a mishap in the whoops section. He almost went over the handle bars and when he came back down his foot got caught behind the nerf bar. He wasn't hurt, but started screaming from frustration I guess. We had a talk about it, it wont happen again. lol

This is the video of moto 2 when Braden was trailing David again and they got together in one of the turns and David rolled over. He wasn't hurt and got right back on and started chasing Braden again like a true champ.
