Couldn't stand the paint job the previous owner did any longer, so since it was crappy weather all week I figured it would be a good project. Pulled all the fairings and started prep work on Thursday, finished it up at about 1 A.M. this morning. All in all I have about 20-25 hours worth of prep work before I actually started painting. Considering the garage was dirtier than it should have been and it was done with some Rustoleum "paint for plastic" rattle cans, I am more than pleased with the way it turned out. Came out a lot better than I had expected which makes me even happier.

Did 1 thin coat of primer, 3 coats of color and 3 coats of clear. Have a set of factory decals coming from Moto-sticker.com. Went with the black & red decals.

Bro!

That came out AWESOME!!!!

I love DIY at home in the garage stuff.

You could have bought a $1200 bike, painted it like that and sold it for $2500 easily.

Excellent work, I love the red you put on there to, looks factory almost!

DUDE! Be very careful spilling gas on anything you painted with that stuff-it will eat it right off!

It might be ok depending on the type of clear coat he used?

I hope so anyway.

I painted my banshee plastic with krylon fusion and have spilled tons of gas on it. paint is still the way I painted it. I would say perfect but it was a bad paint job.

I wonder why it ate it when I did mine. I painted the honda tank fender on my 400ex and every drop of gas ate it off and I coated it like crazy!

Some times to much paint is a bad thing... Did you clear it? Normally unless the gas sits on even rattle can it can be wiped off, not have a issue..

Bike looks good. I have turned out some excellent work with rattle can.. As anything 95% of it is the prep..

They dont. But you also spilt pure gas and not mix gax with oil to leave a film to keep it from eating through.

Unless you use automotive grade paints, primers and sealers, Its will last a year or two at best depending the color. Bike looks good, Just hope it dont turn chalky on you from the sun uv rays.
