The Clarke is thicker plastic IMO, stock capacity it looks better. Larger capacity the the IMS looks better.

i think the clarke tank is much better,i have had both .the ims tank cracked on top around the gas filler hole, and the fuel line hole going to your valve is directly over the exhaust.the clarke seems to be made as good as stock and has the fuel line hole in the stock tank location. the clarke tank is taller than the ims is,you might not like that .it didn't bother me.

I have an old school IMS 4 gallon tank on my R for about... oh 5 years I guess. Not a single problem to report.

I have been running an IMS 4 gallon on my 250R for about 5 years now, bought it brand new. Have no complaints, fits good and have not had any problems with it. No experiance with the Clarke tank on a 250R, but I don't think I would like the height of it.

I have a Clarke tank on one 450R and a IMS on the other. Both have been good tanks, no complaints with either one. Since I run dry break systems on all my quads, I greatly prefer the dry break mounting with the IMS, much better as far as I am concerned. (IMS uses an o-ring, while Clarke uses a metal backing ring and cork gasket, the Clarke system is a pain the the a**!) Since you probably aren't using a dry break, I am sure that doesn't matter. Honestly, I feel both IMS and Clarke make a great tank, guess it just depends on if you can live with how tall the Clarke tank is.

Both the tanks I had were the larger and never had an issue with either one. I think it's just a preference to how it looks and what you think looks better. Clarke in my opinion
