Kill switch to stator??

Gettin ready to hook up kill switch and looks pretty simple but didnt know if i when i take the cover off of the engine on the side with stator will i need to get a new gasket? Reason im wondering is because race is sunday and i cant get parts by then. Is there a wire i can maybe tap into?

Coil wire is what Id splice into for the killswitch. Your talking the kinda killswitch that clips to you incase you fall off right>

Yep its a tethered switch. Directions show taking cover off side of motor but dont wanna go that routeif not necessary.
