Im looking for more torque an longer 1st 2nd and 3rd gear. I ride alot of trails and very rarely come out of 3rd. But I dont wanna kill my top end. Im running 20x11x10 maxis razr tires on ITP 10" rims. My first couple gears are really short and its hard to hold a wheelie without it winding out the motor. I wanna be able to mash the throttle and it hit the grab bar instead of being half way to my balance point and have to put it down to change gears. I dont want to do any major mods. Just simple not so costly things. What do you guys recomend. Not sure on my sprocket set up. Ill have to look when I get home.

Are you stock on your exhaust? A slip on, rejet, and removing lid will give you a healthy boost. Also try a Sparks racing timing key, advances your timing 6 degrees.

And you mean just riding with out my airbox lid can make that much of a difference.

Nothing is going to give you that kinda power bolt on wise. Re-gear, will make it feel different, but it will def kill the top end. I always felt that the stock rear sprocket, a 14T front is perfect for trail riding. Or if you have newer one (05+) drop a tooth off the front.

I have an 04'. I took some of RNL's advice and ordered the sparks advanced timing key. Didnt seem like a bad deal for $20. I looked last night and my sprocket set up is 14/39.

Let us know how the key works for you.

Will do. Im anxious to see myself. Another question. How does removing the airbox lid make any difference. Wouldnt it ruin the filter

removing the lid adds airflow, more air plus more gas equals more power.

it will not hurt the filter in any way.

Would it be wise to change jets for this mod. Or are they ok as is

Shouldnt have an effect on jetting.
