my axle is about to come off?

My axle is sliding back and forth inside the swinger, is this just because the axle nut is loose or somethin?

Sounds to me like the bearings are shot. If the axle nut is tight, time for some bearings.

If it's sliding back and forth in the swinger, tighten the axle nut. If you feel any front to back play in the wheels after tightening, it's the bearings.
