motoworks sr4 spark arrestor??

I put a motoworks slip on on my 400 a little over a year ago my buddy said i need to take the spark arrestor off and clean it what do i clean it with and what will it being clean do? Other people told me i should just take it out what will that do?

Carb or brake cleaner should work fine. Personally Id just remove it b/c it doesnt really do much imho.

Alright ill probably take it out today. Will it change the sound

More sound or piwer? Do i need to rejet after removing

Will of course make more sound, might need to rejet since it restricted it a bit.
