I've been talking it up so since I got the motor I thought some of you might be interested. Apex 1000 laid in xp900 chassis. Just starting to decide the layout, and put careful planning to everything.

I'm definately interested in any pics and info you want to share along the way. It'll be a sweet project; especially when you start doing the suspension  . Thank you for sharing.

I don't really have any pictures at the moment. I have all the motor mounts done, I've leveled off the frame from the front bulk head back, and plan to start the full cage in probably 3 weeks. I've spend alot of time in cad making tabs, gussets, and designing a 2wd specific front end. I have it cycling 17 inches so hopefully it will come together the way I've planned.

That sounds sweet! What CAD program do you use? CAD screenshots would be cool if you don't mind sharing. I think a side x side build would be sweet, and I know your work is top notch.

1718103228I use solidworks most of it is not that exciting to see screen shots of, its all about how it comes together. this is the motor plate that is extremely vital to the project. While crude in appearance building it this way makes it easy for me to laser and replicate/make changes cheap and easily. At some point I will probably make one out of billet but thats big $$$ as it would take a large chunk of aluminum and a ton of setup time. The dark blue simulates the motor itself. This plate aligns the motor to the trans axle both left to right and controls the angles up and down of where and how they mate.
