Starting question

Long Story short I was living on one of side of the country and my 250R was on the other side. Well I'm back now and spring is just around the corner. When I last ran my 250r about 2 years ago and I had just finished breaking in my esr 350 and hasn't been started since. My question is what is the best thing to do before I start it? I've heard of putting some oil down the jug and kick it over a few times or WD40. Or should I just put new gas in it and fire her right up?
