My silencer came loose while I was riding and I didnt notice it till I stopped, It slammed into the axle and the part of the silencer and part of the headpipe bent a little. I was unbolting the silencer and one of the studs broke, there is about 1/2 inch of the stud still sticking out, I tried vice grips but I couldnt get it to budge, nebody have any ideas on how to get it out? Thanx alot

Would drilling into the stud then using an easy out work?

I had one break off on me a while back too and it also was too tight to get out with vice grips. I sprayed Kroil Oil on mine twice a day for 3 days and it broke loose pretty easily with the vice grips. hope this helps.

What is kroil oil? so you just let it sit for a lil while and spray it down with that oil and could come out?

Kroil Oil is a penetrating lubricant that is supposed to creep into spaces as small as a millionth of an inch. I get it from work, but I am sure you can get it or some thing similar at a hardware store, or maybe Wal-Mart. Just remember to give it time to work, like I said, It took three days for mine to break loose.....

that happened to me too, i used a dremal to cut a slit in it then used a screw driver to get it out, but ya gotta spray it down with penatrating oil first for a few times a day for about 3 days just to get it to budge, and if that doesent work take the motor out and use a easy out on it:( :ermm: its a pain in the arse

If you want it up for riding fast just go ahead and drill it and use the easy out on it. Works like a charm.

So far ive just tried wd-40 and vice grips with no luck at all. Cutting a slit in it then using a screwdriver sounds like it would work, if that doesnt work i'll try an easy out.
