cylinder bore

so everybody is saying that i have to send my cylinder off to get bored and replated for my rebuild because of the nikasil. do i really have to do this or can i just put a LA sleeve in it and be good

Generally you dont bore these cylinders, you simply buy/exchange them for another one thats already done for you. IE 480,500 kit, etc.

If you want it bored and replated you gotta send it out. You cant just bore it, doesnt work that way since they are coated.

You could bore it than sleeve it if you want, but its not generally done.

its pretty much cheaper to get a new cylinder than it is to replate the one you have.
