If those frames fetch 22-25 then that one from Oregon is a deal. 350 PV from LED gonna cost at least $2500. Everything else would be bonus.

"but everybody on trx.net is bashing it."

Get your advice from people who actually owned one. Let me tell ya, I'v had mine for about 4 years now and its freakin' great. I don't have any issues with my LRD frame and I ride my quad a lot. I just bought an hour meter last summer, but I'd guestimate that I have about 200 hours on my frame.

I know one of the secret moderators at trx.net wanted to buy the Attitude frame I bought and I got it before he did. Now EVERYTIME someone asks about the LRD Attitude, this guy has to bash the frames. He's never owned one and he barely rides his R's. He's opinion is worthless. Every aftermarket frames crack, its just the nature of our sport.

The only thing I don't like about my frame is that its a no-link frame. I wish I woulda just got the standard link frame instead.

I read all the stuff off the other forum and started debateing weather i should sell mine.I hvnt even fiished building mine yet and the frame is brand new.Im glad you spoke up meat cause i new you have one and was curious how she was holding up.Im not saying anything bad about the other guys and some of them seem like they had one and one guy does have one.So i cant help to worry a bit.Ive talked to the guy at fullbore and he had one and it cracket at the ffootpegs a couple times and he got rid of it but he said his buddy has had one for 10 years with no problems.ive done my homework on these myself and ive heard good and ive heard bad.I could care less about the fittment issues and at this point ive overcome most of them.My main concern is cracks.Im not a racer and specifically ride the oregon dunes. But i do like to jump and thats my main concern.

We discussed this when I bought your Pep's,but I owned serial number 0001 Lrd crf450 chassis, confirmed with Lrd. This was supposed to be the only hybrid Lrd chassis made, which was for Ballance Bros. It was 400ex based, bolt on pegs, even a battery mount in the subframe. I found no repairs anywhere on that frame other then the two upper frame rails. Which I later found out was due to a mx'r casing a double. It is now an ice racer up north. Would I buy another Lrd frame, absolutely, but Im no pro rider. Coolness factor,of course. If I had the cash Id have you send it my way,as I still have some a-arm and a few other bolts left over from it. Either way good luck!

Suspension has come a long way since those frames were produced... I think that paired with the fact you'll be riding dunes you will be fine. The frames just weren't made to be mx'd and beat on.

Let me make this clear tho, my quad rarely leaves the ground. We're XC riders and never do any MX racing. So I don't know how the LRD's hold up with MX abuse.

I think 89trx250r made a good point about suspension being a lot better today then 2004. I use Custom Axis shocks front and rear.

More thoughts. My frame has the '88-'89 style peg mounts, I thought the peg problem was the ones with pro-peg mounts. I could be wrong.

Also, needs to said, my frame had one crack, behind the front bumper, like where you'd mount your ressy cans. I bought the frame with this crack and had it fixed right away. Its holding up fine.

I cracked the fucck outta my stock frame.
I also nearly broke a Lonestar swingarm in half, does that mean all Lonestar swingarms are junk ?

Fitment was kind of a pain in the asss but it wasn't so bad. Kinda fun actually, fabbing up mounts and sourcin out bolts.

got any questions.. just ask.

Had a buddy bought one of these new. Watched him get in a first turn crash and it cracked in several places around the front bumper. Frame had little hrs on it. They hold p fine under normal use but to stiff for mx use.

There has been lots of talk about bolts for these aluminum frames. Do the LRD aluminum frames require special bolts? I am aware that aluminum and steel dont work well with one another when it comes to fasteners, is this what the problem is? I had a chance at an attitude a few months back that i missed out on and want to know what special stuff is required in case one ever comes up local again. It will NEVER happen again and i should have called quicker, but it would be nice to know.
