those razr TT tires do really good on the hard slick blue grooved tracks

yeah they are a soft compound, almost feel like jelly when you push them. you can see in the pic the front right one still has some tar/oil on it from the last race last season. There's an oil track around here that just makes a mess of the quad, lol. These tires worked well on that track too, they got great traction!

i'd like to see some more FT quads, come on guys i know there's more out there. Mine is nothing but spacers and tires, lol surely we've got some decked out FT machines!

im building 2 TRX for 2013 season right now i will come back to this forum and post some pics.

Oh yea buddy of mine is working on a new TT tire that are called goldspeeds. maxxis actually used goldspeeds rubber when maxxis made there tires, so the new goldspeeds are going to be a good tire. they are new to the US but they will be on the market soon.

Just seen the selection of flat track tires that GPS off road products has. Many different tires and compounds. Www. Gpsoffroadproducts.com not sure if there all listed on the site but they have racks of them and great prices.

Looking good! I'm building my now...getting the motor ready now and will move on to the chassis in a couple of weeks...will post pics soon... I've been out of racing for a couple of years and anxious to get back into.

Where's everyone racing at? I'll be in Illinois and some racing in Southern Wisconsin.

Herscher, IL...60 miles south of Chicago. I have family in Wisconsin so will be running some races up there in Atwater and maybe some more in D18. I'll do some ice racing next year in the SWIRA too; I wasn't ready this year so couldn't make it.

I am pretty close to Pekin so I'll be there for some races in D17. What rounds in EDT? All? What's the "must attend" race this year?

your running d18? that will be a haul for you.... we ran d17 last few years.. will hit a few of them this year.. i live 5 miles from the track in pekin....6th is 1st d18 race at BET... we will run the full series of nationals.

i'm torn as to which race i should go to. Pekin has one too and it's only 2 hours from me as opposed to belleville which is 2.5 hours. that belleville tt looks awesome though

I won't be at Pekin until June but it's a fun track. I haven't been to Bellville in about 7 years, and might want to make the long haul this year for a round. My quad is still in pieces, so hoping to get it done by the end of April in order to race up in Atwater, WI in May; they're D16 I think.

Far as i know neoga track has been there for like 20 years. I ran their last race last season, it was my first time out there. They do put oil down and the traction when i was there was incredible, felt like black top.

Was wondering if there would be any interest in a track in Kankakee, IL? Currently they only run stock cars.

I talked to the owner today because I wanted to see if I could get some practice in, and it's only 15 minutes from my house. He said he was thinking about running TT and 1/3 oval for quads and bikes but wasn't sure if he would get the numbers. He currently can't run quads or bikes because his current insurance doesn't cover them.

I talked to the owner and he feels in the next few years he will eventually have motorcycles and ATVs. I will keep bugging him about it; to help anybody could call the Kankakee County Speedway and ask about it just to show some interest.

How was Pekin? My motor is still being rebuilt. I'm not sure I will be able to get out to the track until mid-August.

pekin was good, it was fast that night. That was my first time at that track so i was just started to get comfortable toward the end of the main. heading down near alton this weekend for another district 17 race.

There's an ice race coming to the area this winter that i want to jump in on. Just have to locate some studded tires. Do you maintain the same setup for ice or do you drop it down lower or raise the ride height? I know some go more narrow on front which i can't really do, but i could throw the back out a little wider.

panici33
11-07-2013, 09:58 AM
I will have the same setup as flattrack and width will depend on the ice, but usually, there is plenty of traction so I will keep it wide, around 49." I just ordered my tires last week...ice racing season can't come soon enough. This be my first ice racing season in about 8 years.
