I heard the venom piston 12.25:1 piston is a preety good piston and performs like a 13:1 piston. Does anybody know about these pistons? I want to run a slightly larger piston but still be on 93 pump gas.

He doesnt make them anymore or does depending on who asks (never got a straight answer out of him but he is pimping his stuff on yfz sites it seems).

Honestly its such a slight bump in comp its not even worth it. The pistons are nothing fnacy, just custom ordered cp pistons. Can achieve the same comp ratio by decking the head slightly.

They are kind of expensive as well a lil higher then je and cp. what's the highest compression can I go and still run pump gas I have a 07 model?

those venom pistons are highly desired and hard to come by. CP piston is not far off. Not sure what CJM was trying to say, but venom is a site sponsor on central if you are interested in contacting him, he might have some over stock or might be able to get you to the right person to get a venom piston.

13:1 and over requires higher octane. you can do 12.5:1 and run pump gas.

Honestly I contacted him like 10x thru the org and email. he wont sell them to me, said hes not doing pistons anymore-several others I know asked as well-same answer. But IDK why hes selling at yfz central.

Also they are just custom cp pistons. Its not really worth the cost for the tiny little bit bump in comp vs a 12:1 and decked head or just 12:1

i agree, you can get a 12.5:1 je piston if you really want that bump in compression.

mixxer probably doesn't sell on the org, because he's not a sponsor there and can't do it according to the rules, he will always do headwork if you approach him about it, but he's good about not selling stuff unless he is a sponsor. that piston is hard to come by no doubt.

the guys that ran Venom performance youst to make the best exhaust there was on the market, dont know if a can say the same for there pistons. Buddy of mine who is a pro rider in TT. youst to ride for venom performance way back when, and let me tell you venom youst to do some mean port work, and you match it up with the exhaust and piston you were looking at bout 65hp bike all day long. but i havent heard of venom doing much business/work anymore. but i tell you one thing if you get your hands on a venom exhaust. better keep it cause they are the best exhaust out there period...

youst = use to

lol sorry that was driving me nuts.

also, let's clear some things up. 65hp all day long? with port work and piston and venom exhaust? let's see that dyno?

55-60hp, yes. 65, not so often, i'm not saying John can't achieve that, but he's more famous for his easy 50-55hp on stock length valves with HVP porting.

The awesome thing about the venom exhaust is that it is very quiet for it's performance level. Probably the best performing pipe considering the db levels. If there are no sound restrictions, then i'm certain there are other pipes that can out perform the venom when it comes to the big builds.

Just like the pistons, the venom pipe is also hard to come by!

To answer your question, John (@ Venom) does not offer the CP piston for the TRX450R, anymore. Go to KB Motorsports http://www.kbmotorsportsonline.com/engine/pistons/cp-pistons.html This is the best deal, for $180.00, you'll find. Thanks.

CP makes great pistons and you would be very happy running any of their products. I run a CP in my YFZR and would highly recommend a CP piston.

Whether the motor has 65 or 60 or 55 it makes no difference. It's how the bike runs at the races: holeshots & podiums.

I'm not knocking anyone or any products, just saying. Who cares what the numbers are.

he was talking about a flat track pro racer with 65hp, numbers matter in flat track and holeshot doesn't matter nearly as much as power and setup.

I can say I have his head on my pro bike. Mixxer knows his **** go luck with the piston but cp is the best bet.
