450r carb leaking

Hey guys my brother just put a 04-05 450r carb on his 400ex. It runs perfect, the only problem is where the float bowl meets the carb it it leaking gas out of the Seam. I'm assuming the float bowl gasket needs replaced, but is there anythig else that could cause this? it dosent leak u til I rev it, then I can watch the gas seap out. Anyone had this happen?

You can pull it off, with some 200 or so grit sand paper lay the paper on a flat surface, sand/lap the bowl, check to see that there is no gashes in the mating surfaces, you can always add a tiny bit of rtv around the perimeter.

okay i will try that tomorrow when i take it off to examine it. Im running into a bunch of things ive never had happen before haha.

i would just replace that gasket, my 450 carb did the same thing until i replaced it.
