carbs and sprockets

What recommendations do you have about removing the choke? What is this talk about the stock carb not opening all the way? I was considering dropping a tooth on the front sprocket for more low end torque.

I took out my choke and have a 14t sprocket and i like em both. The choke was the best thing i did to my 400. It idles smoother and starts easier and i noticed gains all over. I like my sprocket, it made it a lot snappier and it runs good but i'm goin back to a 15t, i just didnt make my quad accellerat like i thought, i am dead even with my friend and he has the same setup i do and a 15t on there, he is even with me off the line and then he crawls away when we hit 5th.
