I'm wanting to get a some what high end chain for my kx250, so I don't have to tighten it each ride. I can't spend 100 bucks on a chain either. What is a high end chain that will hold up well for around $50 to $75 bucks?

Look for an O-ring chain, I use DID or Regina on my yz450.. Although, I only get x-ring chains.

Remember, cheap and good don't always go together. A chain is something I won't skimp out on... You'll learn that when you see a $50 chain go through your buddys rmz250 cases :eek2:

Exactly why I am single now. I'd like to think I represent the good, but my thinking is usually off!

Every primary drive chain ive got did not last at all. Even on my lil 300ex i had to adjust it every ride.

Dont know how many hours are on the one on the 450, no issues.

Did you cut it to long or maybe its something with the bike?

Otherwise DID is all Id ever buy. But I had good luck with the primary drive stuff (sprox, chain, etc).

I run renthal or pro taper gold non o-ring chains on my race bikes and typically adjust it every 2-5 hours... Basically when I change my oils I will adjust the chain.

Any name brand O-ring chain will be fine, but you need to replace your sprockets when you put the new chain on.

I've had to the most luck with Renthal chains. I do not run o-ring or x-ring on my dirtbike to save that 1-2 hp.

I watch the front sprocket closely and definitely change it out more often than the chain or the rear sprocket. If you let that front sprocket go (which is spinning 3 times as much as the rear), it will wear the chain out faster which will wear out the rear faster.

I inspected the sprockets and they stilll look pretty good. I think im just gonna take a couple links out of the chain until i need new sprockets. Changing a sprocket on a dirt bike doesnt look as easy as a quad lol. Thanks everybody
