I just had a 465 motor built by Mickey Dunlap and wanted to see what everyone thought of running an 05 450r carb. I am currently running the stock carb with a 195 main. All other suggestions on other carbs would be cool too

why dont you ask Mickey Dunlap which carb he recommends for your riding style

I did ask him and he suggested the stock carb. I have been reading that the 450 has a bigger carb and that's why I'm asking about it.

go up too the top an search it... tons of threads about it id run the 450r carb 04/05 and ask zrpilot too send you a adaptor too fit perfect. HUGE gain!

The '04-'05 450R carb and an FCR carb both offer good gains over the stock 400EX carb. The reason most go with the '04-'05 450R carb is because of cost and ease of tuning. I would definitely be upgrading the carb with the 465 motor if I was you. FYI, I just installed a 450R carb on my 400EX and have $176 in it with a carb from ebay, ZR adapter, and 450R fuel line.

What bore/stroke is that 465?
