Fatpeg project

My buddy game me his stock footpegs and i was gonna cut the sides off mine and those ones and weld the two together and have fatpegs if you see what im getting at it? thoughts?

i think that would be a waste fat is good but too fat isnt, even worse since the stock pegs dont have much meat on them. i did this for a total of $35

^^ those look decent, I would do that or spend the money and get some fat peg nerfs...

i hate nerf bars. wont run em i did for awhile and like just pegs. maybe ill invest in some heelguards but nerfs arent relly needed for xc. ill look into the extenders

yeah, I love nerfs and if you hit something during a XC race and your foot slips well....your gonna wish you had them. I'm sure a couple guys on here can share an experience or two.

your feet wont slip off them pegs, if they do you're coming off the quad no mater if you have nerfs or not then, the only con is, that they eat of the soles of shoes

well, its not really the worry of your foot slipping necessarily. The problem people run into is when they are jumping, leaping over a log, hit a rock, high side it and they go to put their foot back on the peg and they miss it or don't grip enough of it and they end up with there foot under the tire and running themselves over. I suggest nerf bars butt thats your risk. Fat pegs will most def take the percentage down butt cant save your completely. Also if those pegs are that sharp you will end up cutting your leg up pretty good when you miss and they run down the inside of your calve. I've had that happen before

ive ran over my foot once and it was the time i was on my friends 400 that had nerfs, put my heal down hit the wet nerf slipped right ito the tire, now ive rode allot raced harescramble around here and allot of trail riding, and i dont slip off, no matter if im messing on a practice mx or in the river bed, so its all preference

i got my foot under my tire once and it sucked me up under the tire, luckily i was in sand. i will always run nerfs

Pegs with heel gaurds?, normal nerfs without heel guards dont give any more rear tire protection then pegs, so with out heel guards it doesn't matter what one u buy

Why cut the sides off just cut the mount off one then double them up

i had doubled 450r pegs. i liked it.

we do that with the klx110s. double up the stockers. cheap easy mod.
