trans red over the aluminum with no base?

It is 2 coats of Trans red over chrome, I wanted a darker trans red than normal. The end cap, bracket and bolts are high gloss black. The FMF logo and spacer is polished. Wish I had a better camera and light so I could take a decent picture that would do it some justice. It really looks sweet in person.

cool...i knew it was a bit darker then the avg trans red....i was hoping it was burgandy...i have some but havent tried it yet.

You bet it is. I just wish I had more time to work with it and to get better at it. I work full time, my wife works full time on an oposite shift and we have three kids. I'm lucky if I have road my quad for more than 30 minutes in the last 2 months:( I know boo hoo for me.

It wont work that great. I know a guy who did that it didnt last very long. But looks cool when ya first do it.. Anodizing works alot better..

Looks great. I really like that red color. It would sure look great on a frame. Maybe even A-arm with chrome tops and that red bottom.

Amen to that. I just wish I got into this long time ago. Once I get my oven I'll have some pics of my frame, I'm thinking Transperant Black over chrome. I'm not sure on the color of plastic either, I was thinking the silver, but I have heard alot of people who don't like it. I quess I will have to what until I see it in person to know for sure or not.

i know there is a trans black on the market. but from the suppliers ive talked to it hasnt preformed very well at all:( im sure it will be a cool color tho...i have some black chrome translucent on order...i cant wait to try it out:D

no its an actual translucent powder. i was supposed to recieve some to test but it never made it out of the suppliers hands. they tried some and said it needed more refinement/formulation before they could sell it.

the black chrome translucent is supposed to mimic the color of the same name on the new helmuts that are out.

Sounds pretty cool, if it works like it's suppose to. Keep us updated if you would. would like to see pics. Hope it's better than the trans blue, I haven't had very good results with it. I have talk to a lot of people that have said the same thing, can be a BIT**

yeah the trans colors can be problematic. there are some tips and tricks i can give ya.....just pm me when ya have a problem:)

I have only had trouble with the tras blue for some reason, so far. I have shot the trans red and trans yellow and haven't had any problems with them. Maybe it's the powder. Will have to order some new and try again. I'll take you up on those pointers some time. Thanks

The head pipes and the front end of the mufflers,the neck, have are done with the High Temp powder. seems to work pretty good. I think I still preffer doing the ceramic coating, I like the looks of it better.
